2019 was simultaneously the longest and shortest year ever. It flew by so fast, but I did so many things, and the year was so full of amazing experiences! When I think about all that I’ve started this year and all that I’ve been able to do, I can’t believe it’s only been one year.
Here’s a very condensed version of my 2019:
I can’t believe it was at the beginning of 2019 that I started my photography business. From studying photography and doing photo sessions I have learned so much about how to take better pictures. From angles to lighting, there’s so much to learn. I definitely don’t know everything, but I’m so grateful that this business has helped me to grow my skills!
Although I started thinking about blogging at the beginning of the year, Life Full of Light didn’t come to life until May of 2019. Has it been the fastest growing blog on the internet? No. But that’s ok! This is just the beginning of what I hope will be a long and exciting adventure.
Even in these last few months of blogging, my content and goals have changed and evolved. I expected that I would post a lot more about photography than travel, but it was the opposite. And that’s fine! I love to teach people what I know about photography, so I hope you can get some knowledge out of my blog posts no matter what your experience level! I have also loved getting to share my travels with you, and I hope to share many more soon!
This summer I boarded my first airplane (the first of many I hope!). I took several different flights in June and July, some long and some short. I was a little scared at first, but there is nothing like being up there in the sky. I’ve always loved watching sunrises and sunsets, and seeing them from a whole new perspective was incredible. I hope I never get tired of it!
The first flight I took happened to be my first ever international trip. The first use of my passport took me to Alberta, Canada, one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. I met the sweetest people in Canada who helped me see the best that Alberta has to offer in just 3 days. I want to go back so badly!
We got to explore the towns of Banff, Canmore, Waterton, and lots of in-between stops. Every time I think of my time in Canada, it’s with a dreamy recollection of mountains, lakes, and boat rides. Of course, I want to visit other parts of Canada, but I would go back to Alberta in a heartbeat!

Only a month after my little vacation in Canada, I boarded a plane to Anchorage, Alaska. This was another first for me, as I had never been on a mission trip before or been to Alaska. What an incredible week that was!
I will never forget the kids that we got to meet and minister to. Those days we spent in the park playing with kids who just needed to be loved will always be a special memory for me.
This trip was also my first time to see the Pacific Ocean. I even rode a boat on the ocean for a whale watching tour!
Alaska is so so so beautiful, and I want to go back! If you ever get the chance to go, take it!
Here are my blog posts about the amazing places we saw in Alaska:

We finished out the year at my family’s favorite vacation spot: Disney World. Disney is somewhere we have been many times, but it never disappoints!
Every time we go to Disney World, there is a new ride or something new to see. This time we got to see something I’ve been dying to experience: Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge.
My family has watched Star Wars many times, so getting to fly the Millenium Falcon and meet characters from the Star Wars universe was so cool! Galaxy’s Edge is so immersive, and just being there is enough to make you think you’ve been transported into a Star Wars movie.
We also got to see Toy Story Land for the first time. What a cute and fun place! I especially liked the Slinky Dog Dash rollercoaster.
And I can’t forget the Skyliner! We rode the Skyliner gondolas to Epcot and Hollywood Studios every chance we got.
Even though I’ve been to Disney World more than once, I would happily spend many more magical vacations there!
I’m going to be writing several more blog posts about Disney World in the near future, but in the meantime, you can see what fun things there are to during Christmas time at Disney here:

While this year was full of experiences, I can’t wait to see what the next year (and the next decade!) will bring.
I’m going to be doing plenty more traveling in the future, so be sure to join my email list to be notified whenever there is new content on the blog!
